Puka jewellery first became popular in Hawaii. ”Puka" is the Hawaiian word for "hole" and refers to the naturally occurring hole in the middle of these rounded shell fragments.
This handmade necklace is meant to be worn shorter and higher on the neckline. It measures approx. 18" in length. Perfect worn with other necklaces to give a layered effect.
The Puka Shells have been individually wired wrapped to the chain approx. 1.5" apart and each tiny shell is approx. 7mm in diameter. Kind of like the old daisy chain necklaces we used to wear!
Available in 14kt Gold Fill or Sterling Silver with white Puka Shells.
